Welcome to the Junior League of Bronxville’s 2016-17 Year!

The Junior League of Bronxville (JLB) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Since our International founding in 1901, Junior League members have been dedicated to affecting positive change all over the world.

They are committed to the belief that volunteer service is an essential part of responsible citizenship. For over 65 years, the JLB has been serving Bronxville, Mount Vernon, Yonkers, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe. We have established dozens of community service projects, awarded millions of dollars to area nonprofits, and contributed hundreds of volunteer hours in our community. Each year, we provide critical support to community projects, programs and partners, sharing our financial resources, collective voice, expertise, and consolidated power to help alleviate hunger and improve nutrition for men, women, and children in southern Westchester.

I am proud of our Mobile Food Pantry program, Done In A Day, Community Events, community grants program, scholarship program, New Member Training Projects. We treasure our ongoing community partnerships with the Food Bank of Westchester, Hope’s Door, ECAP, CSA, The Guidance Center of Westchester, YPIE, My Sister’s Place, and City of Mount Vernon Youth Bureau.

Our rich history of voluntarism and preparing generations of women for a lifetime of civic leadership, has left an incredible impact on our community. The JLB is also fortunate to have a passionate and diverse membership of women who are embracing these challenges, building partnerships and inspiring shared solutions in our community. We truly are disrupting convention, changing the conversation, and bettering ourselves for the betterment of society.

I am honored to be part of a legacy of a women who are helping the SHINE a light on food insecurity in Southern Westchester and building better Communities.

Regards,
