AJLI is an international organization of women with a unified mission; there are 292 Leagues with 150,000 members in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Great Britain.

There have been several famous Junior League members; guess who? Eleanor Roosevelt, Sandra Day O’Connor, Barbara & Laura Bush, Nancy Reagan, Eudora Welty, Shirley Temple-Black, and Katherine Hepburn.

The JLB was granted a Certificate of Incorporation in February 1948; today we have 297 members, including 79 Active, 215 Sustainer, 1 Honorary, 1 Friend, and 3 Emeritus.

Membership in the JLB is open to women over the age of 21 without regard to race, creed, religion, or national origin; and there is no upper age limitation.

Sustainer members comprise two thirds of JLB membership; Sustainers support the JLB mission financially, through Active voluntarism, advocacy, and mentorship; many hold leadership positions in our community.

All JLB projects are mission-based undertakings planned and approved by membership; they include commitments of volunteers, and administrative and financial responsibilities.
